Santa was spotted flying over Stafford today as local paramotor pilot Craig Holland took to the skies. Craig wanted to do the flight to put a smile on the faces of children around Stafford this Christmas time.
He said “I’ve been playing with some ideas whilst decorating the house for Christmas this year and liked the idea of doing something different to boost everyone’s Christmas spirit in what has been and continues to be a challenging few years for everyone. Our children have probably suffered the most whether be through time out of education due to school closures and losing the social interaction with their friends as a result. Also, birthday parties and days out with the family have suffered but it’s this magical time of the year that really puts a smile on children’s faces. I have a 5 year old daughter who loves Christmas and I enjoy every year making the house look nice and making her experience special. It also brings that magic back for us older ones to see their faces and what better reaction to the one when they see Santa Claus.”
To keep in line with flying restrictions Craig did a loop around the town and flew low over rural areas including Shugborough hall, the County Showground, Aston Marina, and back round via Doxey marshes and Stafford castle before finishing off heading towards Acton Trussell.
For those who missed it, Santa will be hoping to make one final flight around Stafford to check his naughty and nice list is correct before the big day arrives!
